Hi Everyone,
Congratulations to all our BAS extended family on doing a great job in keeping COVID – 19 cases to a minimum in Regional Victoria during the second wave.
Over the past number of weeks, it has felt like “Groundhog Day” with the same old things occurring each day. But there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel.
At least Regional Victorians have been better off than our metropolitan counterparts who have been under quite severe restrictions.
As of last night, Regional Victoria have moved to Step 2 which will allow some extra easing of restrictions. For full details click on this link.

Hopefully there will be more good news later this week with a further easing of restrictions within Regional Victoria.
In anticipation of more positive announcements, Mark Perdon, in consultation with the coaches is rejigging the Netball and Tennis training dates for the remainder of this year. Each sport will probably have some training sessions in the new year to ensure a comprehensive program is on offer.
We are also working to commence new programs with Canoeing, Clay Target and Volleyball as soon as possible.
As things become clearer athletes of each sport will be informed of the training dates, venues, times and any COVID -19 restrictions / safety measures that will be required. We will be following the Victorian Government and Federal Government advice to manage all training sessions effectively.
Presentation Evening 2020:
At our last Board Meeting the members made the very difficult decision to once again postpone our Annual Presentation Evening yet again.
With restrictions at the time being very restrictive regarding travel and group sizes the decision was made to move the 2020 Annual presentation Evening to May 2021 [exact date to be confirmed]. This will combine our 2020 Presentation Evening with the 2021 Presentation Evening.
For athletes who would eligible to attend both functions you will be provided with a ticket refund [if already paid for] or have a reduction in their upcoming fees.
Canoeing flyer:
A flyer is attached regarding Canoeing for anyone who may be interested in trying a new sport. If you are interested, please contact either Tony Misson or myself.
Reminder Note: If you or a family member feels unwell, you should stay at home. If you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, you should get tested.
Stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely
Graham Gordon
