Program overview

The Bendigo Academy of Sport Volleyball Program has been in operation for 23 years and has experienced a great deal of success with a considerable number of athletes achieving state selection.


We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated coach to undertake the role of Head Coach of the volleyball squad [athletes aged 12-18 years] who

  • Is committed to a holistic approach to athlete development
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is committed to learn and develop
  • Has a willingness to share and exchange information


Training sessions are weekly [Tuesday 6-8:30pm] and one Sunday / month [10am – 2pm]. The program will run until late April. Two tournaments are entered – Bendigo Dragon City and the Warrnambool Seaside. Assistant coaches will conduct training sessions under the guidance of the head coach. The Head Coach will oversee the coaching panel, providing a training schedule, mentoring and will be required to attend one Sunday training session / month and the two tournaments.


An honorarium is provided for this role.



Before being accepted into the coaching position, the coach must satisfy and agree to the following requirements of the program:

  • Coaches must agree to operate under the Bendigo Academy of Sport  Code of Conduct and Child Safety Code
  • Coaches hold a current coaching accreditation through Volleyball Australia or demonstrate that they are working towards this
  • Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain an appropriate Working with Children Check (WWCC)
